The procedure for applying welding technologies at hazardous production facilities will remain in effect for another year
The government has once again postponed the date of cancellation of the procedure for the use of welding technologies in the manufacture, installation, repair and reconstruction of technical devices for hazardous production facilities. It, along with other documents in the field of welding production, was supposed to lose its effect on March 1, 2025. Now this will happen on March 1, 2026. The procedure had to be extended because the requirements for welding work have not yet been enshrined in the Law on Industrial Safety of Hazardous Production Facilities. The draft has only been adopted in the first reading.

A student from Tolyatti created a cooling system for welding
The ultrasonic welding system increases its productivity. This is possible thanks to the vortex tube built into the device body. It separates the air into cold and hot flows, cooling the system and removing heat. This significantly increases the cooling efficiency and, as a result, the productivity of ultrasonic welding. The cooling system can be used in both manual and automated welding machines. The vortex tube uses compressed air and is an effective solution for local cooling in production. Such a solution has not yet been used in Russia, so Vladislav applied for a patent to the Federal Bureau of Intellectual Property.

UAZ has put into operation high-precision welding equipment for cars
As part of the modernisation of the UAZ Profi, Patriot and Pickup models, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has commissioned a welding jig for the body part "Front Shield". The equipment was developed and manufactured by specialists from the auto giant's subsidiary, UAZ-TEKHINSTRUMENT LLC.
The new technological solution will improve the accuracy and quality of welding, as well as simplify and speed up the process of manufacturing body elements. The welding jig is a device for assembling and fixing the parts to be welded. It ensures their precise positioning relative to each other. The operating principle of the device is based on the sequential laying of parts. After their installation, air is supplied, which fixes the parts using pneumatic cylinders, and then contact welding occurs. If it is necessary to reconfigure to another modification, it is enough to rearrange some units and change the location of the stops. For convenient movement of the new equipment, wheels with a protective coating and locking elements are provided.

Capital Enterprise imports substitute welding equipment for pipelines
One of Moscow's leading manufacturers of polymer pipes, the Poliplastic Group, has developed and launched into production welding equipment for the installation and repair of pipelines. The advantage of the development is that it allows for the repair or reinforcement of polyethene pipes with a large wall thickness at the construction site.
"Welding is carried out according to the procedure at a single high pressure (SHP). This places increased demands on the equipment. Our new welding equipment meets these criteria and also allows us to improve the quality and reliability of the connection, while significantly reducing the time for installing pipelines," said Viktor Kalensky, Head of the Engineering Support Department of the Group.

Avtotor to launch robotic line allowing to produce more different cars
Installation of a robotic welding and painting line has begun at Avtotor in Kaliningrad. It allows for the simultaneous production of several bodies for different models on one platform. The level of automation has increased fivefold compared to the pre-crisis period. As part of the equipment preparation, the foundation for the main conductor and robotic complex was reinforced, and metal structures for overhead welding machines were installed. The welding line was calibrated, and the main elements of the main welding line and conductors were installed. The new line is capable of producing up to 80 thousand bodies annually.
