Digest No13: current news of the welding industry

We have collected the latest news from the world of welding over the past few months

Innopolis University has developed software that speeds up the programming of welding robots

The innovation speeds up programming by 3-5 times, simplifies the work of process engineers and helps to optimize welding processes. The operator or designer scans the part required for welding and adjusts the welding seams. The system combines the obtained scan with a 3D model, calibrates the location of the part, builds a welding path, checks it in a virtual environment and runs a process simulation. This approach will make it easier to work with limited space, complex product geometries, and hard-to-reach welding areas.

Tver Carriage Works has introduced robotic plasma technology

Technologists of the Tver Carriage Works (TMH holding) have integrated robotic plasma spot welding systems into the fastener assembly line. The advantages of this welding approach are speed, consistent quality and high seam accuracy. The robot eliminates the human factor at the stage of point formation, and TVZ technical control experts provide a multi-level check: they scan the connection areas with special equipment, identify microcracks and hidden tears, and cut off defects in advance.

NTZMK has launched automated welding complexes

At the NTZMK plant (part of the NEK Group), two automated welding complexes were put into operation at once. They need to deliver high performance, speed, and quality. Each complex is a robotic "arm" with a track for moving along the metal structure, a set of welding equipment and software. Their main feature is machine vision technology, which allows you to automatically recognize work surfaces, as well as reduce the likelihood of errors and reduce setup time.

Raichikhinskaya GRES introduces welding students to real production

On the eve of the All-Russian Welder's Day (May 29) at JV Raichikhinskaya GRES (DGK JSC, part of the RusHydro Group), the company's experts introduced future specialists in the welding industry to the conditions of real production. Students of the first and second years of the specialty "Welder of Manual and Partially Mechanized Welding (Surfacing Welding)" learned about the key role of welding production at the GRES and the prospects for the development of the industry, and also tried their hand at practice in the workshops of the central repair shops.
