Rostec has brought to the market a "smart" welding complex with automatic search for welded joints
NITI Progress (part of RT-Capital, Rostec) has developed an electron-beam welding complex with automatic search for a welded joint and beam trajectory control. The equipment operates in automatic mode: the system independently scans the products, determines the joint and performs welding without the participation of an operator. The operator only loads the products to be connected into the work area and starts the process.
Previously, such equipment was produced only abroad, and the already presented standard domestic complexes operated in a semi-automatic mode. The complex is designed for welding shafts and can be adapted to products of various complexity, including thin and thick metal materials. Working in a vacuum chamber ensures high quality connections.

Russia's first robotic complex for hybrid laser-arc welding was launched in Bryansk
The Bryansk Machine-Building Plant has put into operation the first robotic complex of hybrid laser-arc welding in Russia. The equipment has been introduced into the production cycle for welding critical components of railway equipment.
The complex is installed in the bogie shop and is designed for the manufacture of beams for the frames of electric locomotive bogies. The combined technology combines laser light and arc welding, ensuring high process speed and consistent seam quality. The first welded joints successfully passed ultrasonic flaw detection.

The market of industrial robots in Russia grew by 14% and approached 8 billion rubles
At the end of 2025, the volume of the industrial robotics market in Russia reached 7.86 billion rubles, showing an increase of 14% year-on-year. If the current conditions are maintained, by 2030 the market may grow to 15.1 billion rubles. With active state support, the industry can accelerate by up to 38% per year, and the volume can grow to 48 billion rubles. However, such a development will require large-scale investments. The density of robotization in 2025 increased by 36% to 40 robots per 10 thousand workers.

SUSU Has Developed a Technology for Welding Dissimilar Steels for Power Engineering
Scientists from South Ural State University have presented a new technology for welding dissimilar steels for power plants. It will make it possible to combine heat-resistant martensitic steel on the one hand and corrosion-resistant austenitic steel on the other. Eutectic high-entropy alloy is used as an intermediate layer, which makes it possible to adjust the composition and properties of the weld.
The process is implemented using robotic tungsten arc welding in an activated flux protective gas environment (A GTAW) and is focused on the production and modernization of critical elements of power units.

Deka plant increased the production of steel welding wire by 2.4 times
The DEKA welding consumables plant in Vsevolozhsk, Leningrad Region, has expanded the production of import-substituting steel welding wire to 13.9 thousand tons of products per year. The volume of investments exceeded 330 million rubles.
The products have successfully passed the NAKS certification, the localization level is 100%. The company plans to occupy up to 20% of the Russian market, focusing on customers from the mechanical engineering, oil and gas and construction industries.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation has approved a new professional holiday - Welder's Day, which will be celebrated annually on the last Friday of May, starting in 2026. Unofficially, this date has already become entrenched in the professional environment. Welding control with an accuracy of up to 80 microns has been introduced at the KAMAZ plant
At the KAMAZ cab frame plant, a welding control system with an accuracy of 80 microns has been introduced. Production is 80% automated, each part undergoes strict in-line control. Random geometry checks are performed on two Zeiss measuring machines. The contact method used for measurements and laser scanning of surfaces allows you to record deviations at an early stage.
